What exactly is going on here?
This is what happens when Twitter friends realize that their reading piles aren’t getting any smaller and they both wish to read a multi-volume classic: Edward Gibbon’s The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.
This work was published in six volumes from 1776 to 1789 and provides a detailed account of the internal and external factors that led to the fall of one of the largest superpowers of the ancient world.
